A man was taken into custody Tuesday morning after a police situation in Portsmouth. Police were present outside a home on Dennett Street for hours as they tried to get someone to come out of the home.
A Milford woman was transported to the hospital after a snowmobile accident in the North Country Sunday. At 1:47 p.m., emergency crews were called to a snowmobile crash on the frozen surface of Back Lake in Pittsburg. A New Hampshire Fish and Game conservation officer, Pittsburg police and fire and emergency medical services personnel all responded to the scene.
Firefighters from multiple departments responded Sunday night to a two-alarm fire in Peterborough. Officials said the fire was at a three-bay garage and workshop at 555 Middle Hancock Road. Peterborough Fire Chief Ed Walker said the cold weather was a challenge for crews battling the blaze.

A man who stole cash from a Rochester bank is on the run. Police say the man handed a note to a teller during the robbery at Holy Rosary Credit Union just after 10:30 Saturday morning. They haven't revealed the content of that note, but say the man did not reveal a weapon. He was last seen running toward Nicole Street, but a police dog was unable to follow his trail.
Officials trying to determine cause of cellar fire in Manchester
A 21-year-old city man faces charges after leading police officers on a brief chase up Hanover Street and crashing his van on Beech Street Wednesday afternoon, police said.
Police in Pelham are investigating a pedestrian versus car crash Wednesday night. At 6:07 p.m., Pelham police and firefighters responded to 89 Nashua Road for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Officers identified the pedestrian as Nina Perednia, 53, of Methuen, Massachusetts. Perednia was transported to Lowell General Hospital in Massachusetts with non-life-threatening injuries.
A Washington man was taken to Concord Hospital Tuesday night after he jumped from the second floor of his home to escape a fire. Officials didn't know the full extent of his injuries, but they said the homeowner suffered cuts and burns.
Manchester police are looking for the man who robbed a local convenience store at gunpoint Tuesday night. At 7:25 p.m., a white man wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, a black mask and gloves, armed with a black pistol, entered the Z1 Express store at 650 Second St. and demanded cash. During the robbery, another customer entered the store and the suspect fled on foot.
One person suffered life-threatening injuries and three others were seriously injured Tuesday evening in a crash on the southbound side of Interstate 95, officials said. New Hampshire State Police were called to the Hampton Toll Plaza after a report of a serious motor vehicle crash just before 6 p.m.

Concord police said they arrested a man in connection with numerous sexual assaults committed against a young child. Police said 30-year-old Nickolas Micucci, of Concord, was arrested the evening of Dec. 30 after police got a tip concerning the welfare of a child in the care of an adult male.
Dozens of firefighters from multiple towns responded Wednesday night to a massive fire at a lumber mill in Springfield. The planer mill at the Durgin and Crowell Lumber Co. was engulfed in flames about 7 p.m. Wednesday. "Once we started to establish a water supply and get things going, we realized we needed to go to a third alarm because of the volume of fire," Springfield Fire Chief Peter Lacaillade said.
A Manchester man is facing charges after being accused of threatening a man with a gun. Manchester police were called to 455 Amherst St. at 9:10 a.m. Wednesday after a resident allegedly threatened a man with a firearm. The alleged threat took place after the victim asked a tenant of the building to move a vehicle so the victim could move his own car, which was blocked by a vehicle owned by the tenants of the second-floor apartment.

A four-alarm fire burned a lumber mill in Springfield on Wednesday evening. The fire broke out at the Durgin and Crowell Lumber Co. on Fisher Corner Road in a 700-by-200-foot building.
A woman is facing animal cruelty charges after 22 German shepherds were found in a New Hampshire barn with no heat or fresh water. “The dogs were all in wire pens with no roof over them, so no ability to keep their heat in,” Alexandria Police Chief Donald Sullivan said.
